I explored Landstuhl a bit on my own today. Took a few photos around town. There is a neat square with fountains, similar to our Oak Street Plaza in Fort Collins. It would be a great place to dance!
I poked my head into a little bookstore. I found a copy of Eric Carles, The Very Hungry Caterpillar in German. I will have to see if I can find someone to read and record it in German for me. Next, I popped in the little bridal boutique for fun, some of the dresses in the window are gorgeous. Very elegant dresses, not sure the sales woman was too impressed that I was in there but oh well. She tried to give me the little pair of white gloves, I assured her I would "not touch" "just look". Next, I went to the bakery. I was going to attempt to order in German but I chickened out! I did manage to get the rolls we are needing for dinner (brochae?) and also a chocolate croissant for Nick.
I've read some stuff for school and trying to do some work on these days while Carl is working. Last night I walked up "Cardiac Hill" to meet him when he got off work and no joke that hill is a killer. It's no wonder he didn't do more damage when he broke his ribs!
Tomorrow we go to Munich, Carl's favorite spot in Germany. We will stay for a couple days. It is about a 5 hour drive. Looking forward to that time.

So, I thought it may be fun to blog this trip to Germany - so here it goes. I arrived on Tuesday to the Frankfort Airport. Once I navigated my way through the long hallways of the airport and found my luggage I was greeted by CJ. What a great feeling, to see someone you see in your dreams and finally realized it is really him! This trip is a gift. It is a chance to reconnect and enjoy some beautiful sights that the Lord has blessed us with. Everywhere beauty can be found - we have to be open and receive the gifts that are put in front of us everyday. Whether it be a child, a flower, a healthy step, a smile, a giggle, a beautiful view. Gifts are abounding and we have to keep our eyes and hearts wide open to acknowledge them. So, many times we rush through our daily routine with nothing to show by the end of the day. It reminds me to relax, live in the moment and enjoy and accept the good and simple pleasures that life has to offer.
Back to the trip: over the last few days, I have eaten lots of ice cream! We have visited Kaisenlauten (Ktown) and Heidelburg. Very beautiful amazing architecture in Cathedrals.Walked the cobblestone streets. It is a beautiful place, different from the everyday hustle and bustle I am used to in Colorado. I love listening to the language. I am trying to pick up word here and there as I can. This proves to be a difficult task.
Loving life right now and feeling very thankful!
